Scott Trust bursaries for post-graduate training

The Scott Trust, owner of Guardian Media Group (‘GMG’), offers bursaries to 10 students each year to study for a post-graduate qualification in either: newspaper/online journalism; broadcast journalism; or technology.

A number of these bursaries are endowed in the memory of Hugo Young, the great Guardian political commentator and chairman of the Scott Trust from 1989 to 2003. 

NCTJ journalism diversity bursaries

Separately, the Scott Trust also funds (but does not manage) five NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) journalism diversity bursaries.

These bursaries are managed by the NCTJ. The bursary pays for course fees and provides work experience within Guardian Media Group. For details of how to apply visit the NCTJ's Journalism Diversity Fund website.
