The chief executive of Guardian Media Group is Andrew Miller. The chair of GMG’s board of directors is Amelia Fawcett.

Joined the board in June 2007 and was appointed chair in April 2009. Amelia is also chair of the Hedge Fund Standards Board in London, a non-executive director of State Street Corporation in Boston, Massachusetts and a non-executive director of Investment AB Kinnevik in Stockholm, Sweden. She was previously chair of financial services firm Pensions First LLP, as well as vice chair of Morgan Stanley’s European operations. Amelia is a governor of the London Business School, a commissioner of the US-UK Fulbright Commission and a trustee of Project Hope (UK). She is also chair of the American Friends of the National Portrait Gallery (London). Amelia was awarded the CBE in 2002 and the DBE in 2010, both for services to the finance industry.

Appointed chief executive in July 2010. Andrew joined the group as chief financial officer and was appointed to the board in 2009. He was previously Group CFO of Trader Media Group, which is jointly owned by GMG and Apax Partners. He has also worked at Pepsico, Bass plc and Procter and Gamble.

Joined the board in 1999. Alan joined the Guardian as a reporter in 1979, became deputy editor in 1993 and was appointed to Guardian News & Media board in 1994. He became editor of the Guardian in 1995, and joined the Scott Trust in 1997. He is executive editor of the Observer, a visiting fellow at Nuffield College, visiting professor of history at Queen Mary’s London and chair of the National Youth Orchestra.

Joined the board in 2009 when he became chief executive of GMG Radio. Stuart was appointed as commercial director of GMG Radio and managing director of Smooth Radio in London in September 2007, having previously held the position of commercial director at Guardian News & Media.

Joined the board in April 2007. Nick is also a non-executive director of All3Media and of Marston’s Plc. He was previously deputy chief executive officer of David Lloyd Leisure Group, chief financial officer of National Car Parks, chief financial officer of The Laurel Pub Company, and before that CFO of Freeserve, the internet service provider.

Joined the board in January 2007. Brent co-founded and was previously CEO of lastminute.com. He has worked for LineOne, Mars & Co, Spectrum Strategy Consultants and was a founder member of QXL, an online auction company. He is also a governor of University of the Arts, London.

Joined the board in December 2008. Judy is venture partner at Accel Partners. Before joining Accel Judy set up Microsoft’s MSN business in the UK and went on to manage the business across 35 markets as corporate vice-president of MSN Global Sales & Marketing. She has over 25 years of experience in software and internet technologies and previously held senior positions at Apple Computer and Hewlett Packard, working in Silicon Valley.

Joined the board in November 2009. Neil is CEO of Virgin Media. He joined ntl, Virgin Media’s predecessor, as Chief Operating Officer in September 2005 and has also worked for Lloyds TSB plc (UK), Prudential Assurance Company Ltd UK, St George Bank, Eastwest Airlines Australia and ICL Australia.

Joined the board in May 2010. Simon is chief executive officer of HMV Group. Previously he was chief operating officer of Kesa Electricals Plc and managing director of Comet Group, which he led through its demerger from Kingfisher.
Simon Fox, independent
Joined the group as chief financial officer and was appointed to the board in April 2011. He was previously chief financial officer, EMEA at WPP-owned global agency network Group M. He has also worked at BSkyB and the BBC.

Joined the group and appointed company secretary in 2001. Phil was previously group financial controller of Hickson International plc and Fenner plc.
